Industrial frequency converters are mainly classified into three categories: low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage. They are widely used in scenarios such as motor speed regulation, energy-saving control and precision drive.

2. Classification by Topology

Current Source Inverter (CSI): Ideal for low-speed, high-torque scenarios like heavy rolling mills.
Matrix Inverter: No DC link required, high energy conversion efficiency, but higher cost.
3. Classification by Application
General-purpose Inverter: For variable torque loads like fans and pumps, supports V/F control, cost-effective.
Special-purpose Inverter: Designed for elevators, injection molding machines, with dedicated protection and control logic.
Servo Inverter: Used in robots and CNC machines for high-precision motion control, supports vector control or DTC.
4. Main Applications
Energy Saving: In fan and pump systems, speed regulation replaces valve throttling, achieving energy savings of 30%~50%.
Soft Start/Stop: Reduces starting current to below 1.2 times rated current, minimizing mechanical stress and extending equipment life.
Process Optimization: Enables millimeter-level precision in lithium battery rolling or packaging machinery.
System Integration: Supports communication protocols like Profinet and Modbus, enabling integration into MES/SCADA systems for intelligent monitoring.
